<p>Hi, transfer student here. I have a few small questions that I'm sure any of you with transfer experience can answer. </p>
<p>I'm in a transfer program called UniversityLink, where I have to finish 60 credits in order to transfer (the same works you have to finish for all other transfer programs). </p>
<p>I'll be finishing 33 credits by the end of this fall semester, and through doing a schedule I saw that I would have to take one summer class during summer 2013 in order to have all 60 credits finished in order to transfer to a UC facility, specifically UCSD. </p>
<p>My question is, can I apply to UCSD this coming November in order to go in Fall 2013 even if I don't have all 60 credits done? Do I apply twice, once before having 60 credits and again after finishing 60 credits? Can I take a summer class in summer 2013, finish the class, and still be able to apply to UCSD for Fall 2013? Or would I have to wait until Spring 2014? </p>

<p>You’re going to have to squeez that class in somehow. I think Merced ad riverside(?) are the only UCs that allow you to take a class during summer. I’m taking 18 units right now and it’s not bad at all. Squeez that class in somehow!</p>
<p>@mermaker, thanks for the advice, but the one class I need to take in summer semester is a math class, which I can only take one math class per semester. Squeezed everything else! </p>

<p>Yeah with the 60 units I’m fairly certain you have to have that done by Spring. I do know that UCSD lets you take classes in summer that count as transfer but doesn’t affect the admission process. For ex. I am taking Calc II in the summer prior to transfer to either UCSD, UCD, or UCSB but I already have the 60+ units and IGETC will be done as well. It’s just for my major.</p>
<p>Do NOT take Calc 2 over the summer. It’s hands down the most difficult math class of the whole bunch (calc 1-3, linear algebra, discrete). It’s hard enough during a full semester, taking it over the summer is suicide, unless you don’t care about your GPA.</p>
Exactly.To enroll in spring 2014 you’ll have to hope that each UC campus will change its policy about accepting spring admits since it is decided on a per-campus basis. For Spring 2013 they say
Maybe they’ll change that, but the historical trend has been many used to allow it and now they don’t, so it does seem like a longshot.</p>
<p>Thank you all for the replies, I had an email send to me on Sunday by the office of Undergraduate Admissions of UCSD that “you must have completed 60 UC transferable semester units by the end of Spring 2013 term for admission to Fall 2013. If you will not have your units completed by the end of spring 2013 term the next available term for transfer will be Fall 2014”. </p>
<p>So basically, I’ll have a whole year free before I can transfer to UCSD because of one math class that I can only take one semester. At first I kind of got anxious about this but then again I still need to do so much before I transfer and I complete my career, such as doing volunteer work and work in general, SATs and ACTs, and rebuilding myself. </p>

<p>Info is very spread apart, I had to find out so many different things for just one topic. Little did I know about transfer students not needing to do the SATs and ACTs, but I guess that was my fault for not finding out sooner. </p>
