Can I take an SAT class to study for PSAT?

Does the PSAT and the SAT have the same content? I don’t want to take a PSAT class since I feel like I would be paying for classes that would only pretty much serve to get me a scholarship. I want to take a SAT prep class to prepare me for both, but I don’t want to be studying the wrong material for PSAT either.

The PSAT is the same as the SAT but with less hours than the SAT. The PSAT doesn’t have an essay while the SAT does. The PSAT have 5 sections which include 2 for Critical Reading, 2 for Math, 1 for Writing. Good Luck!

Honestly, if you are studying for the scholarship, then the PSAT counts. If you are not studying for a scholarship, the PSAT should not really worry you. The SAT course would be fine and it would focus more on the real test.

This year’s PSAT will be the same/similar to the new SAT that will be released next March. So…a current SAT class would not prep you adequately for the new PSAT as the format will not be the same.

In prior years, prepping for SAT would have helped for PSAT, other than perhaps needing to sit for one or two practice PSAT exams in order to become accustomed to the timing.

I forgot about that. Yeah, @CT1417 is right. The PSAT is redesigned so taking current SAT classes right now won’t help.

As stated above.
