If I haven't taken the econ 100A, will I have trouble studying the material in Econ 119? Does anyone have any idea?

idk the answer to this question, but i took econ100a with acland (who i think is also teaching 119)this past semester. He was completely incompetent…he chose psets from the book which f***ed people who didn’t get their hands on the solutions manual (since it was graded on a curve). pretty hard tests too…

I took Econ 119 with Koszegi and none of the material had anything to do with 100A.

I had 100a with Acland as well. While I agree he wasn’t perfect, you’re critique of him I believe is too harsh. That was his first class ever. Blame the university for assigning him to such an important class, not the professor. I ended up learning a TON and with a lot of hard work walked out with a decent grade. He improved tremendously as the semester moved forward, so I bet he will be an excellent professor in 119.

I think 100a isn’t necessary. However, Acland focuses on the math… you better be ready for it. His lectures are almost entirely math based rather than graphs.

Thanks for the info guys! I haven’t taken 100a either. Would someone mind sending me the lecture notes for the class?

I meant to add that the lecture notes from Koszegi’s class would be better since those are all out. thanks ;)
