Can I take more classes than recommended?

So during orientation, I was recommended to take MAT 123, WRT 102, SSO 101, and 2 Glo/Hum/Arts/Usa classes. This is a total of 5 classes and 13 credits. Do you think 13 credits is too little? Can I add classes that weren't recommended to me, kind of like taking an elective or something? I'm a Chemistry major, and the reason I'm not taking chemistry or physics is because I have to finish taking MAT 123 first. Any suggestions?

Good question. Can you take more? Yes, absolutely. You can take as many as eighteen without permission. But just be aware that the workload will be heavier than you think it’s going to be, depending on what those other two courses are!

Also – you’ll want to check with your advisor, because if you’re a Chem major, you’re going to want to get into CHE 129/130 this fall.
