Can I take my transferable math course the Spring before I transfer?

<p>I have a very late registration date at my CCC and I need to take Stats. There were 10+ Stat classes being offered and 8 have filled up completely. </p>

<p>The other 2 are partially open but they're filling up as well. I get to register in 3 days.</p>

<p>I'm scared that there won't be any open spots left and I might have to take Stats in the spring. I know this will disqualify me for TAG but can I still apply to the UCs through general admission and get in if I take the transferable math class Spring 2012 for Fall 2012 admission?</p>

<p>You can, but it looks better if you complete your Math and English pre-reqs during the Fall since they will see those grades and they know they’ve passed.</p>

<p>Math classes tend to have a high attrition rate, if you can’t get in any of the classes during the registration period, try emailing the professors. Just say that you really, really need the class and ask them if it would be ok to sit in the class until others drop. Most professors are cool with this provided that they have room so I’m sure you can find someone to build a schedule around.</p>

<p>If you still can’t get in anything during the summer and fall semesters, then don’t worry, still apply. But you absolutely need that math class in the Spring, if you find yourself without the class then, start looking at other CCC’s nearby and sign up for it there.</p>

<p>In the TAG flyer for Davis, it says I can take the math course Spring 2012 for Fall 2012 admission and still be eligible. </p>

<p>To confirm: I can sign up for the TAG in September and general admission in November without taking the Stats course and then sign up for Stats in January and finish it out in the Spring?</p>

<p>Yes. I’m taking my UC-transferable math course this semester and I’m still eligible for transfer. While I was unable to TAG to UCI because I needed to finish both my UC-transferable math and writing course in the fall, I was able to TAG to Davis because they allowed me to finish both transferable courses by the end of Spring. I even got admitted to UC Davis.</p>
