I am trying to transfer to UCB as an Integrative Biology major for Fall 2019, but after looking at my courses, I’ll be missing my second semester of Ochem, which is a major pre-req. How would it look if I was to somehow take Ochem 1 and Ochem 2 the same semester for Spring 2019? Obviously at different schools though.
Someone may come up with an example, but I am unaware of any college where OChem 2 does not have OChem 1 as a prereq. They’re building blocks. It’s like asking if you can take Algebra I & II or French I & II concurrently. Even if you find a backdoor solution like you propose, you’ll likely be underwater with OChem 2
Do you have a death wish? Most students have a very hard time with Organic I. I can’t imagine trying both at once, and as pointed out, O1 is probably a prereq for O2.
@twoinanddone you are right, at my cc O1 is a prereq for O2. However, you can find a way to get through with it in extream rare cases.
The things we learned in O1 is used in O2, so I don’t think it is a good idea to take both of them at the same time unless you had taken O1 earlier and repeating again.
I am in O2 now, for me it’s not hard, just a little bit of more studying and memorizing.
