I’m currently taking an Algebra 2 class which covers algebra first semester and trigonometry in the second semester. Is this enough for the Math 2 test or should I wait until next year after I take precalc?
Are you a sophomore? I’d wait till after you take precalc. But if you really want to know how you’ll do right now. there are tons of practice tests online.
Can you? Nothing will stop you from registering for, and taking, the test.
Should you? I would recommend waiting until you’ve completed the appropriate coursework. Unless you’re already a Junior, there’s no advantage to taking it early and there is a downside in not performing as well as when you will be fully prepared.
Yes, but…
You would need to have a strong sense of algebra and geometry and make sure you master all the concepts. There will be on occasion some matrix or limit problems that will not be covered in Algebra 2 so if you want to take it before precalc then you need to make sure you learn it.
Personally, I would not recommend it, but it depends on how comfortable you are with the concepts tested. Take a practice test or two and see how that goes. Remember, an 800 on the Math 2 is generally around the 78th percentile, so you want to aim for the highest score you can.
I would take practice tests for the math level 1, which goes through honors Algebra 2. Not many people take it for real, but it will be good preparation for the math level 2 after you take precalculus next year.
if you wish to get good score, better to take sub math 2 after precal. you can self study though
Yes, you absolutely can.
BUT, I would recommend you to take it AFTER you take the precalculus. But I also wonder why you still need to take precal because precal is actually just a review of Algebra and add some trig
But since your algebra II class covers trig, I think you might be able to do well on the SAT II.
My advice to you is to talk to your teacher and see what s/he says cuz math class can be very different from school to school
