Can I take the SAT Subject tests outside of my country?

I live in Canada but the only center with seats available is about 2 hours away in the US. Can I do this?

Anyone out there who has had some experience with this?!

Just contact CollegeBoard through their website. You definately can, esp. if students in countries like India and China can, a Canadian (a foreign student following a similar HS curriculum and such) should be able to. I’m 99% you can just take it in Canada itself.

I recall reading something here about a Canadian student who did the exact same thing. Just contact College Board and the school.

Thank you so much. I just emailed the College Board with my question. Do you really think I need to contact the school as well?

Honestly, when you register, you just pick whichever testing center you want to test at. CB won’t really question where you live; they’ll just ship your test to that particular center. Even though I live in CA, I can choose to test in Maine if I wanted to; it’d just be very inconvenient.

That being said, you do live in a different country, so I’m not 100% sure about that. I would actually recommend you call CB during normal business hours (9-5 EDT, Monday-Friday excluding holidays like today) to ask. They’re not very responsive when it comes to e-mails.
