Can I talk to my guidancr counselor about personal things?

Do people talk to their guidance counselor about personal things? I need someone to talk to about personal things (trouble at home), and none of my friends know or would understand, and I can’t see a therapist…

Absolutely.

He or she is there to be an advocate for you. If the issues are beyond his experience, he’ll have the resources to help you, and will know where to go for help.

Sometimes you just need an unbiased ear, someone to tell you whether or not you’re over reacting. Or someone who can be sympathetic, and offer real-world based coping mechanisms. That person is your guidance counselor.

Of course you can, your guidance counselor should have a degree in psychology. So personal matters shouldn’t be a problem.
