Is it possible for me to transfer to a different university if I go to NYU as a LSP student for my freshmen year?

^^^bump^^^

collegesam,

You are not tied to NYU because you are in the LSP. You just have to make sure you do well at NYU LSP so that the school you want to transfer into will consider you favorably.

Also, I think it is generally harder (but not unheard of) to get money as a transfer student than as an incoming freshman (except for the IVYs that provide for full financial need). This may be a factor, unless you have gotten a bad aid package from NYU LSP anyway. In which case, I am wondering why you would want to spend so much money on LSP when you can go to a cheaper college (say a state university) for the year, do well and then apply to your college of choice. What matters in the end is the school where you complete the bachelor’s degree. So it makes sense to save in the first year or two by going to a cheaper college, excelling there, then transferring into the college that has the higher standing to complete your bachelor’s.

I’m in the same boat. I would rather go to NYU instead of a state university because I’m trying to transfer into pretty prestigious universities, so if I don’t get in, its better to be stuck at NYU than a crappy school. My concern is transfer credit. I mean, *** can cultural foundations count for?

bump - sorry, I need to get as much info as I can before may 1
