First of all, I’d like to apologize for the overly complicated question that I’m asking, though it’s relevant to my current situation.
Right now I’m taking classes at a CSU as a CS major, but I want to transfer to a UC and I realize the difficulty of transferring directly from a CSU to a UC. Because of that, I want to transfer my CSU units over to a CC so that I can get better chances as a transfer from there. I know that UCs need 60 transferable credits and that whichever college has the larger ratio of transferable units determines whether you count as a CC or CSU transfer. My current plan was to do a majority of the units at my CSU and then transfer them over while I complete the last semester at CC before transferring. What I was curious about is whether the UC will check if the majority of those credits originally came from the CSU, or would it only count as CC no holds barred? For example, if I have 40 credits to transfer from the CSU to the CC, would then applying to a UC count those 40 credits as coming from CC or would it be traced back to the CSU?
The second part of my problem is now based on if the answer to the first part is that they will indeed be traced back to the CSU. If that’s the case, can I still be enrolled and take classes at both the CC and the CSU at the same time, but have the majority of my UC transferable units come from my CC classes so that I count as a CC transfer? The reason why I’m making it hard on myself by attending both the CSU and the CC is because I’m also trying to get the major comp sci internships such as Google EP, Facebook U, and Amazon, but those require you to attend a 4-year university. With this plan, I was hoping to transfer to a UC as a CC student while still having the opportunity to do CS internships due to my enrollment in the CSU. If not, should I just cut my losses and give up on the internships so that I can get into a UC, or potentially would the reverse be a better option?
Thank you for anyone who read this and is willing to answer my questions.
