Hi everyone. I am a first year college student and I am really set on majoring in biology, but I also want to major in anthropology. These two subjects are ones that I am really passionate about and want to pursue a career in someday. My question is, can I transfer to a UC as a double major in both of these areas or should I just major in biology first and when I transfer minor in anthropology? By the way, I am really set on Cal or UCLA and I am just wondering what would be the best way to approach this and just thought I could get some opinions. Well thank you very much and this is much appreciated!

Yes it is possible, if you can handle the work load. You should focus on bio prereqs, and maybe a few of the core Anthro ones (there’s only 3 at most UCs, 4 @ UCLA). After you are admitted in 1 major, you fill out an application for double major status / minor later in the semester with that specific college (Anthro is is Letters & Science).
