Can I transfer to a University from one year of Community College?

I’m currently a senior who is planning to attend community college. I honestly don’t feel ready to attend a unversity just yet. After high school graduation, I’d rather settle down, decide what i really want to major in, help my parens raise money to help pay for my tuition or dorm for next year, and just increase my GPA & do well my first year in community college.

So is it possible for me to transfer to a university after one year of community college?
University of Texas at Austin is where I want to go after next year, and according to the website, it says i need “30 semester hours of required transferable coursework at another college or university” inorder to transfer. Since I will be attending Community College, is this possible?

ALSO, I’m willing to take some classes this summer at my CC to recieve credit and get rid of requirements out of the way. I heard that I’ll recieve 6-9 credits during that time?
Please help me. Thanks!

Yes you can transfer after just one year. Find a CC that UT has an agreement with so all your credits count.

It depends on how many credits you take! I’d talk to the community college’s advisors and see if you can craft a schedule that lets you get 30+ credit hours by the end of the academic year.

My guess is that, especially if you take summer courses, you should be able to do it, but I don’t know what CCs are like where you live so I can’t give you a reliable answer.
