this is going to sound very stupid but i just got the ti-89 and i don't feel overly confident using it solely but it would be helpful for a few problems
i was wondering if i could use my old ti-83 plus and my ti-89 during the Sat 2?

Nope just 1 calculator; if it mulfunctions they may let you use a secoınd one.

Best of luck in the test.

Rusen Meylani.

You're definately allowed to take a backup calculator and switch to it if your primary calculator fails. When it comes to using two calculators at once, people have different answers. Doing a quick search on the old board, a bunch of people said they had used two calcs but another bunch said it wasn't allowed.. Ask the proctor tomorrow so that you don't get in trouble with CB.

ok thanks, ill see how it turns out.

I had two out the whole time - Just as a back up though for my 89. There shouldn't be any reason that you wouldn't be allowed to use two at the same time; I don't think there's an existing rule prohibiting it, so why not? :D

** hey! thats what i do, and everyone else thinks im crazy. **.
i dont do it this year though, but here is what happened last year:

i used both for Calc AP test, no problem. during SAT II's though, the proctor told me i could only use 1, and i told her it was clearly not against the rules, and she argued back, so i wasted the 3 minutes i needed, and lost the argument. so basically, you can only use 1. and if you need 2, talk to the damm proctor beforehand.
