I got Financial AId, and I don’t want to use it on tuition. I will be covering tuition out of pocket, so I will not be needing Financial Aid for that. I also do not plan on using board and room as I will be living at home. I just need the Financial Aid loan to cover the books. Just wondering if that is at all possible, or does Financial Aid just prioritize books?
It depends on what kind of FA you receive. Some can only be used for tuition, some aid is specifically for r&b. If you are talking about a direct student loan, you can use it for anything, but the school will apply it to your bill first and then give you whatever is left, which you can use for books. If your bill is paid when the loan is processed, the loan will go to you. It often takes a few weeks for those funds to be released.
What difference does it make? If you have enough to pay out of pocket for the tuition, and you expect a refund for the loan amount, just use that money to pay for the books and the loan money will pay the rest of the tuition.
This sounds odd!
If you get FA for some/all of your tuition, then guess what??!! You can use some of your dedicated tuition money to pay for books.
Can you clarify?
Maybe someone else is paying his tuition directly.
If so, then that person can send the money in
