Can I "use" my undergrad degree for admissions help

Hey guys. Just want to thank you for the help in advance. I left high school and got my GED and scored rather well , especially in science. I did two years at ITT Tech as an electronics engineering major. I'm not looking to transfer credits or anything. I'm wondering if instead I can apply as an undergrad while using my associates degree for credibility like most people use their high school diploma/transcripts.

Is that acceptable? Would it give me a good shot at some pretty good schools? If not, is there anything I can do to change this?

Many schools will gladly take you. Contact those admissions offices as their policies will differ greatly. It’s very likely you may be seen as a transfer student however

I hope so. I’m truly hoping my degree packaged with some ECs and really good SAT scores and essays would be enough to get me into like RPI or Tufts. That may be reaching though lol

Speak to them directly. They want mature students with solid backgrounds – even if your HS days aren’t spotless. Best of luck to you

My HS days are atrocious lol but I got it together and did good in my GED and for my associates degree. Thank you for all the help. I will do that

Many places do not look at the HS record at all for a transfer applicant with at least a year of college credits. Even fewer care about HS if you have completed an associates degree. In the Transfer Forum there is a very useful thread entitled “Transfer Admissions 101” at the top ofthat forum. If you read through it, you will find a lot if useful information.

Wishing you all the best.
