I have this question because I struggle with financial difficulties. I am looking for financial aid, and that’s why I will apply to 20+ colleges. The Common Application allows me to apply to only 20 colleges. Can I apply to another 20 via the Coalition App? Will there not be any problems? I need your advice, thank you so much in advance.
I think that sounds like an insane amount but your can apply to however many schools you want.
Have you run the NPCs at these schools? I’d spend time doing that rather than just haphazardly applying to a to of schools and hoping for the best.
^ That, and craft a careful application to QuestBridge or Posse, if you qualify.
There was an article on a girl last season who got into a crazy number of schools. She ended up doing a Go-Fund-Me for basically a community college. None of her many, many acceptances were affordable. Throwing things at a wall and hoping something sticks is not a good application strategy.
Yes you can use both the Coalition and Common apps to apply to more colleges. HBCUs have one app for 50+ colleges. Many colleges also have their own application which you can use. QuestBridge does allow one to apply to many schools so see if you qualify for that program…speak with your GC.
Make sure to run the NPCs before you apply to see if each school is affordable…this can save you a lot of application time and effort and make sure you only apply to schools that you can attend if accepted. Also, make sure to use application fee waivers where ever you can.
20 is a lot of schools to apply to, and it will cost a lot of money. But, to answer your question, yes, you can apply to 20+ schools using Common App and Coalition App.
