I don't want to spend $40 on application if I don't need to. I don't know when I will hear back from Stony Brook but if I don't get into Stony Brook I need to apply to UB, if I wait like another week or two will I still have a chance to get in.

I wouldn’t advise you to wait any longer - the economy has many students applying to the SUNY’s these days. UB’s deadline for academic scholarships has passed, their priority FA deadline is today, and their housing deadline is May 1st! I don’t know if you want to live off campus your first year, but I think at this point you’re already running that risk! Not sure how big their waitlist will be this year, I think it was fairly large last year…what are you going to do if SB declines and UB waitlists you? Is it worth $40 to decrease your chances of acceptance further?

Agreed with sk8rmom-
Get your application in now unless you have a good back up plan.

You will get housing as a freshman if you put your deposit in by the May 1 deadline.

I would agree with the posters above.
I applied quite late in the process, but was able to live on campus… However, dorms are going very quickly.
