Can I WING some of these tomorrow?

I'm thinking about taking some of these subject tests tomorrow on STANDBY, though I have not studied one bit. I got 35 ACT Math, so I could do relatively well on Math II. I'm taking Spanish V right now, but I probably won't do incredibly well on passages or anything. I'm taking AP Biology right now, but don't most of the stuff from 9th grade or a lot of the major terms.

I think I'll take some of these tests in November and December with studying, but I was originally thinking of taking the SAT I tomorrow(even though I don't need to since my 1320 SAT doesn't compare with my 1400 equivalent on the ACT), but realized that it might just be a waste of time. My friend told me that colleges superscore subject tests, and I won't be happy if Duke sees my low scores in some of these tests, but I still want to give them a try. What do you guys think?

just FYI the SATII math is NOT AT ALL like SATI math...which if I'm not mistaken is comparable in level to the ACT. Could be wrong though.

But I've had to study my butt off for this MathII test, even though I only got one problem wrong on the SATI

Yeah I just looked at some practice problems, and the test looks fairly difficult, but I want to do something with my Saturday morning tomorrow, either the SAT(which I don't know if I really want to do), or some subject tests. I'm definitely not prepared, and I can get ready, but I wanted to do something tomorrow. I'm not sure though, might look bad if I take subject tests in November or December but it also shows that I had a lower SAT than my June even though I already had a high enough ACT, so they might wonder about that. If that option to choose which scores to send was here now instead of March 2009, I wouldn't have to worry about this.

With a 35 ACT Math you can probably get high 600s to low 700s on MathIIC.

Very few schools require SAT IIs if you have taken the ACT with writing. Be sure that you are not taking tests needlessly. Your 35 on the ACT is really good, and is sufficient for most schools, even Ivies. I think only a small handful, and I believe Princeton is one, require more tests when you submit the ACT.

Since 6 wrong is still an 800, what's a 700 equivalent(from the SAT regular Math) to a Subject test, as in if a 700 is top 5 percentile, what is top 5 percentile with Math II? I can always wait for November, but I just want the experience tomorrow, and if not, take the SAT I and try my luck again.

Franglish, I didn't get 35 ACT, I got 35 on the Math portion of the ACT, and I think Duke requires subject tests even if you submit the ACT with Writing. It's not easy getting into Duke, I mean I have #1 class rank but that's not enough, and quite honestly these subject tests I'm thinking about are only for Duke(if I get good score though I"ll send them to Emory), but I don't want to do bad tomorrow and take the subject test later and do good but still have colleges know I did bad on that one day. I could just not take them and forget Duke altogether because it's not my first choice(Emory, USC Honors are), but it's still a great university.

What do you think about taking the SAT tomorrow, seeing how I do, probably won't get an amazing score ,and colleges(referring to Duke b/c that's only one I haven't sent it to yet b/c I Was thinking of taking subject tests) won't see that bad extra score. Lol I don't know I have all these random thoughts on the last day

Rahoul, the top 5% in SATII is 800. In fact an 800 is 91st percentile, and it falls very steeply from there on.

I don't understand though, why is the curve so that someone who gets 5 wrong has the same score as someone who has all of them right? Yeah I probably don't want to take it then tomorrow. Now I find out that Emory recommends them, so I really want to delay them for November and December so I can study, but I want to give a shot at the SAT I tomorrow, but then they'll see that I took that(if I do bad) even though they superscore and they'll probably take my ACT score over my SAT score.I think I"ll be fine, it's just that a lot of my friends are taking it tomorrow and I haven't done well on the SAT and I really want to crack 1400(even though I have on my ACT), kind of like a mental thing.

Just want to thank you guys for giving me input on what to do, since I did ask this stuff last minute and everything. I know it's going to look bad that I took this SAT in October and I might do worse, but I have no PRESSURE, I'm going to be like nonchalant but also determined to do well, so maybe that might work out well tomorrow. But hey, the question that got me started on this whole thing was: What else would I have done at 8 AM this Saturday? I'll give it a shot, won't stress if I do bad. THanks for your advice guys, I know I typed a lot of random thoughts here but I've gotta look at those subject tests in November probably.

I had 35 ACT math and i got 800 math.. so you can do it
