Can I withdraw before school starts

Hi everyone, I'm really scared. So I signed up to go to Boston University this fall thinking I could cover the expenses. I have so many fees to pay that now I have a -$3661 charge and I'm not even on campus yet. I have first year expenses and I'm from Minnesota so I need a ticket. Can I say no to the school now or is it too late. Also is too late to except my admissions to the U of Minnesota liberal arts. Help I have 10 days before the bill is due.

You need to call U of Minnesota and let them know what’s going on and see if they will allow you to go there.
If you can’t afford BU then you absolutely need to call admissions and let them know you don’t have the funds to attend.

BU can’t make you attend, but you might lose some of the fees.

Call UMinn immediately and see if they will let you enroll for fall.

I called bu and had already sent a $3000 gift aid request before seeing the bill. I feel like I made a mistake and I just might be stuck. Just to clarify, even if i have a roommate already but haven’t registered for classes I can sill back out???

Yes, you can still back out, not great for your roommate, but it won’t be the first time something like this has happened. You might lose your housing deposit.

You need to call the schools, your expectations and our guesses are just that, no one but the schools can give you the answers.

I called BU but they told me they need like 2-3 weeks to review my aid. I called U of M and I haven’ heard back but I’m optimistic. BU said that I should let the late fees be charged to my -$3661 and later ask to have it waived but I serious doubt how wise that it. should i call admissions and tell them to esential hit pause on my enrollment.
