Can Internationals/OOS get regents this year?

what the title says

Typically, yes they can. However, competition is very stiff for OOS, and especially internationals. Regardless, 2000 students will figure out their acceptance to Berkeley on Feb. 12. I do not know if those will 2000 regents candidates, or a mix of regents and other exceptional students. http://www.dailycal.org/2016/01/12/uc-receives-record-high-number-applicants-applications-uc-berkeley-exceeding-100000/

If I remember it correctly from last year, only about half of the invitees went for the interview, and Berkeley took in approximately half of that as Regents. Of course, only about 200 decided to join Berkeley at the end.

@StevenToCollege That’s what I heard too. I wonder if the 2000 students who receive early notifications this year on Feb. 12 will all be Regents candidates.

If you are OOS and need financial aid, you really should consider Michigan and UVA. You’ll get much better FA and these universities have growing budgets, not declining ones. The Ivy League universities will also be cheaper in the long run. UC isn’t the place for exceptionally bright OOS any longer, unless they have buckets of money.
