Can lower div minor reqs satisfy for lower div major and GE?

my major has lower div reqs "Math 20A-B-C-D-E-F, Math 15A or CSE 20, Math 15B or CSE 21." (that is, 4 math courses = 16 units total)

and my minor requires cse 20 and cse 21 as part of the lower div.

my ge requires math20a and math 20b (well i'm TMC, so 20a and 20b is one of many courses that satisfy...)

i've taken math20a and math20b already. and then cse20 and cse21.

does this mean i wont have to take math20c or math20d for my major?
can just take 20a, 20b, 20, and 21 to satisfy all my math requirements listed above??

i feel i'm reading the website incorrectly..if someone could just help me out here, much appreciation!

How to Declare a Minor (Undergraduates)

I don’t 100% understand your question, but if you need MATH 20ABCDEF for your major, you have to take them all to graduate. Just because you fulfill the GEs with 20A and B doesn’t mean you can skip the major requirements.

You are not telling us what is your major. Is your major cognitive science? If it is, then yes you only need those 16 units of math courses as it say. However, sometimes you can’t double dip on minors. Tell us your minor so we can double check for you

i’m sorry! i guess i was confused so what came out was just as confusing.

yes, my major is cognitive science and my minor is computer science.

@momosky, i interpreted my major as saying i need 16 units of math–so, 4 of the following: 20A, 20B, 20C, 20D, 20E, 20F, 15A (or CSE20 since they’re equivalent), 15B (or CSE21 since they’re equivalent)
and since the minor requires CSE20 and CSE21 already, do those fulfill both my major and minor requirements? (i mentioned i took 20A and 20B which satisfied GEs already too)

@Distressed yes, that was what i was wondering–am i like triple dipping or something? i looked at the TMC, CS, and COGS websites and it seems that the only thing i can’t do is double-dip upper div requirements with my minor and major. but it seems lower div is ok to satisfy GE, minor, and major requirements.

sorry for the lack of clarity and really, thanks for help!

I believe you’re all set – you can fulfill your minor, major, and GE requirements using the math 20 series or CSE 20-21. Just make sure CSE 20 and 21 can actually count toward the math requirement for your major, because that one I’m not too sure of. but yes, in theory, you can apply the math 20 series and CSE 20-21 toward fulfilling all 3 of those areas.
