Wow you have some very smart friends!

SHE GOT REJECTED FROM ANYWHERE? Are there more perfect people!? She’s the President of 3 clubs, almost perfect SATI score, perfect SATII scores in everything she took, perfect GPA… what the heck is going on with Cornell and Princeton? What do they want, a freakin’ Nobel prize winner?

I’m sure her recommendations were fine, along with her interviews. It may have been her essays. She can write well, but not like those people who have their essays published in college admissions books.

Doesn’t matter anyway, she got into MIT. =]

Skymall, you keep on sending me messages…I’ve been trying to reply back to you. For some reason though, you chose not to receive PM’s. Very odd. Change it if you want to hear from me.

Actually, I’ll just respond to your message here, since I’m fine with sharing the information with everyone:

GPA: ~3.76, 4.37 (excluding 1st semester senior year, since Stanford accepted me based on this one)

Including 1st semester senior year:

In conclusion, you don’t need an insane grade point average to shoot for your dream schools. Be who you are, and everything will work out in the end. If anyone has questions, feel free to PM me :).

you are really awesome…prowess

and sorry for asking you to post your stats again and again…

Something that is also helpful is if you ask your GC what other students from your school who are “similarly situated” were accepted at. This is more of an “apples & apples” approach than just reading how other students at other schools have fared. HS may have a particular relationship with certain colleges where many of its students attend & your GC should have some “feel” for this as well.

You picked Stanford over Harvard? Go Stanford!

princeton2009, the same thing is going on with you and skymall…“princeton2009 has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.” Change this if you want to hear from me!

Enn: Yeah, Stanford over Harvard. It’s more laid back and has great weather. Plus I’m into engineering, so Harvard didn’t really interest me. It mainly came down to Stanford vs. MIT. Jerome Fisher was equally tempting, I’ll admit that ;).

i know this was awhile back, but miracles: I am very envious of your language skills!

Hahha, thanks :). What languages do you speak?

I’m the self-proclaimed next Hemingway. Watch out!
