Do you row for Marin? Cause they are amazing…they beat us every year at Nationals, except two years ago when my boat (lightweights) took 3rd. It must be difficult rowing when you can’t hear the coxswain…
I hope that this thread will eventually get more organized and everything.
This is SUCH a valuable tool, but it’s just a shame that everybody posts their information in a different format and sometimes exclude certain information (How difficult is it to be thorough, properly format/spell things, etc.).
The main problem is trying to search through all of these results to find specific colleges (Like UC’s or something, or a specific college; if we can get people to post the full name (what’s so hard about that? It can be a problem as some people abbreviate universities, and some universities have multiple names that can result in several variations of abbreviations, etc.) then people can just use their browser’s search feature on every page to quickly find what they’re looking for).
Maybe some time in the future create a new thread with some sort of format template (Of course, not everybody will follow it as there are always those people that for some reason ignore these kinds of instructional posts in these kinds of threads, and are just trigger happy to post their cluttered posts)? Maybe something like this:

Something like that. I WISH that we could get an organized thread started with this kind of outline in which EVREYONE that replies reads the first post to find out the format and then responds using the format (And if they don’t know one of the above, or if it isn’t applicable, they can so indicate).

I find it interesting looking at those who got into HYPSM. Most seem to have rather unbalanced resumes, either amazing stats and a few ecs or amazing ecs and average stats. Those that were really good (but not amazing) in both got rejected. I guess thats what I got out of all of this…would i be off the mark?

Lucky: How did you get into Penn with such an average (read: mediocre) transcript?
I realize that all you guys love posting / reading stats, but did you know theres a really simple site to help. Its www.collegedata.com, i used it a lot. its awesome. its a LOT easier than this way
yeah this is pretty cool, except all the schools i type in give me exactly the same chances ie. jhu, cornell, northwestern. how accurate is this thing?
