Junior Year:
I spent my junior year abroad with AFS. I have always been interested in other cultures and foreign languages and decided that I wanted the full immersion experience that comes best with a high school exchange. It was an amazing opportunity, and I learned more than I think I have in school. Some people questioned why I would go because I would miss the opportunity to take college classes, or more APs, but the experience of living abroad, immersing my self in a culture, and learning an entirely new language was more valuable than any class I could have taken.

Don’t do too many extracurriculars and overstretch yourself because you think it is what colleges want to see. Do a few things that interest you and devote yourself to those.
