Can more graduated seniors do "actual results" threads?

<a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/851794-my-chance-get-into-my-dream-school-ruined.html”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/851794-my-chance-get-into-my-dream-school-ruined.html&lt;/a&gt;

Wow this thread is really depressing. Looking at how so many people with amazing ECs and SAT scores got rejected, I’m not so sure about my chances at a good college anymore.
Maybe I shouldn’t have applied to so many reach colleges… :S

Accepted Yale EA, USC. Stats here: <a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/736548-chance-me-top-schools-ivies.html”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/736548-chance-me-top-schools-ivies.html&lt;/a&gt;

Interestingly enough, I got accepted to Yale early but didn’t qualify for a Trustee/Presidential/Dean’s scholarship at USC :stuck_out_tongue: Just goes to show you the arbitrariness of this whole process…

Good luck to all other applicants :slight_smile:

Well this thread scares me, and I’m considering giving up baseball to study more and do more community stuff. As long as my grades are good, and my EC’s are good, that seems like what’s most important. As a sophomore, I’m shooting for a 2000 SAT first try, and I didn’t do as well as I wanted on the PSAT, so I plan on studying a bunch.

Can somebody that DOESN’T have a 4.0 post their results lol. I have a 2.7 gpa with 1500 SAT, and I’m african american, and I need some ideas of schools to apply to.

Can someone with a 3.8 GPA and an 1820 SAT Please post, because I’m a sophomore and I just calculated my practice sat scores so far, and that’d be those. I’m going for 2000 first try in march, so wish me luck, but yeah, somebody not amazing please post. LoL.

Wow! Your scores aren’t as high as what people believe Berkeley/LA’s standards are. What do you think made you stand out? :slight_smile: You’ve provided me with a glimmer of hope.

Haha thanks teaberry. I was actually even a semifinalist for the Berkeley Alumni scholarship. When I was applying though, I only applied to UC Berkeley, LA, and SD for the UCs because I believed I had a great shot at each (based on my academic scores). I was right. I remember at the time I was mostly worried about getting into Cornell and Washington University in St. Louis. Luckily I got into both. I’m at WashU now!

PM me if you have any more questions about applying to the UCs!

Zeinth: When did you hear from UCLA? All I received so far was an invite to attend UC Modesto LOL. But, UCLA has not sent a reject letter yet? Thxs

Hi nwfilmstudent,

First, I’d like to say again I am currently doing my undergrad, so college applications for me were 4 years ago. I remember, though, I got my UC acceptance letters around April or late March. The scholarship offers came jointly or soon after that. Please double check, though, because the application dates may have changed since I applied.

nwfilmstudent, I believe you mean UC Merced. There’s no UC in Modesto :slight_smile:
