<p>The Common App has a section that says, "Please briefly elaborate on one of your extracurricular activities or work experiences in the space below (1000 character maximum)." I was thinking I might write about my experiences volunteering at a horse rescue, but I did this before high school (in 7th and 8th grade). Is it okay to write about something before high school? Thank you!</p>
<p>I don’t think that’s a good idea for the extracurricular essay. You don’t want to look like you peaked in 8th grade and have been going downhill since. </p>
<p>You can write about life experiences before high school in the other essay, though.</p>
