<p>Her LSAT is very strong, but the GPA is low for both schools. However, her URM status should help a bit. I would be surprised if she didn’t get into Columbia. Her chances at Harvard would probably be a bit more of a stretch, but not outside the realm of possibility.</p>
<p>Your friend would actually probably not get into Berkeley. While C and H are better schools, Berkeley has a higher emphasis on GPA. 3.5 probably wouldn’t cut it.</p>

I think your friend’s application will be a no from H, a 50/50 from C.</p>
<p>Are they really that gracious to Africans (considering they are especially overrepresented when compared to “other” URMs-blacks, in particular)?</p>
<p>Even without the URM, I would say she’s in at Columbia. The 175 is over their 75th percentile. Harvard is a stretch with the GPA, but with URM status it’s definitely possible and worth the shot.</p>
