Hello, I recently was accepted at the University of Virginia as a 2nd year transfer student but I am worried that my 2nd semester grades which leave me with a 2nd semester gpa of 3.2 with 1 C+ might get my offer rescinded as I applied with a gpa of 3.7? I know I don’t have any Ds/Fs, I’m no felon and I didn’t lie on my application but is there any reason I should be worried?
No
@skieurope Should I bother contacting the office of admissions to justify it or is it not worth it?
I’m not sure what you want to “justify.” It is what it is. We all have challenges in life.
No, don’t contact them. They will obviously see your final transcript. As long as you stay above a D, you’ll be fine. Good luck.
agree - no need to call attention to it. should be fine.
@skieurope @Collegehelp4us thank you guys for your responses. My final gpa this semester is turning out to be 3.14, and the C+ is in a major prereq. Do you think I’m still looking alright?. Thanks.
You should be fine. They do emphasize holistic view so you are more than your grades
The truth is that every case is different and we review each final transcript as it arrives. There’s no blanket policy about this.
Holistic reading of applications, which I’ve explained on my blog, doesn’t affect our review of final transcripts.
In case anybody is seeing this worried for themselves. I did not end up finishing with below a B in any class and did successfully enroll at UVA. Go Hoos!
