I am wondering if non-Business majors can take classes @ Haas. I'm thinking about getting an MBA after undergrad (Media Studies major). Can I take the pre-reqs @ Haas? I hope so because I really don't want to have to spend an extra year in between trying to complete the pre-reqs. TIA!

There are no prerequisite courses that you need to take for business school, you just need a degree. You can take haas classes but the haas students will have registration priority over you.

Wow. That’s interesting because I was looking at the program at SF State and they have a ton of pre-reqs. Thanks!

are you referring to this? [Overview : Course Requirements : MBA : Graduate Programs : College of Business : San Francisco State University](http://cob.sfsu.edu/cob/graduate-programs/mba-course.cfm)
i think those are requirements to get the MBA once you are admitted rather than admission requirements.

No, here. They call them “foundation” courses:

if you plan to goto SFSU then by all means try to take as many of those courses at Cal but otherwise, you shouldn’t really worry about it because most schools understand that alot of MBA applicants come from different backgrounds.

Thanks. That makes me feel better. I was planning to go to a Cal State to save money, but I will explore my options further. I wouldn’t be saving a whole lot of money if they want me to complete an extra year’s worth of work. KWIM? Anyway, thanks for the info!

Wow. This is confusing. I just looked at the Cal State Fullerton site and they don’t have any pre-reqs either. I wonder why there are so many at SF State. Maybe I am not interpreting their website correctly.

Ok, I think I get it. The “foundation” courses must be the core MBA courses that everyone is required to take. If you already have a Business degree or have those classes done, that part of the program can be waived. I don’t think they are actually pre-reqs.

I just realized that it looks like I am talking to myself right now. Oh well, maybe this will help someone else. :-)
