At my college, theres the general education classes we need to take, but there are other requirements, like writing class requirements.
Say I need to take a class to fulfill my social science general education section. But the social science class is also a writing class. Can that social science class count for both the social science general education class and the writing class?

Depends on the school, but at mine, and I would assume most, yes.

At my School, yes they can.

Depends on the school and sometimes even the major. I’m sure you’re not the first person to ask this question at your school, so speak with an academic advisor at your school (or poke around on your school’s website - the policy’s probably spelled out somewhere).

It really will depend on the school. Where I teach one class can not fulfill two requirements. Ask your academic adviser. (S)he should be able to help you with the specifics where you go to school. You could also look at the academic policies and procedures in the academic catalog for the year that you entered the university.

this is a question you need to ask your advisor…it can not only vary by school, it can vary by major/department. So check this out carefully!
