can a applicant reappeal a rejection at UT austin??

Reappeal? If your first appeal didn't go through, why would a second? If you meant "appeal" here is my situation. I contacted an admissions counselor about appealing to get into McCombs (I have been admitted to the school, but not to my first choice major), here is what she said,

"You are certainly free to appeal your decision, but keep in mind that appeals are rarely successful if they do not offer any new, compelling information that we did not know during the regular process. If you decide to appeal, you can fax or mail a letter to:

UT Austin Admissions Office

Appeals Committee

PO Box 8058

Austin, TX 78712

Fax 512-475-7478"

I believe the keywords are NEW, COMPELLING, if you just wanted them to take another look at it, like I was considering, I think you will find yourself disappointed.

i fyou mailed your letter, do you know how long it'd take them to give you an answer?

any1 got an replies of their appeals??

I have the same question - Is there anybody who has actually sent in an appeal to the admissions office (for any reason) that has received a response?

well i recieved a reply to my appeal. They told me my decision cant be changed giving me the reason for my rejection. I think its a good reply from the university and shows the commitment !

Rishi, what were the reason(s) that you gave to the appeal committee? (Job loss, family crisis, health problem?)

well..i jus told them howm much i aspiried for the univ of austin...n stuff like tht..

Do they answer appeals by sending a letter/updating online, or would I have to call them? Thanks.

My son got his decision letter today. 21 days after the appeal was faxed... There was no indication of the appeal online.

We called earlier though because the mail doesn't get delivered until after 5. We had called them last Friday and they said they hadn't heard back from the appeals board. Today they told us no over the phone. My husband said they were kind. Call if you don't hear...

Thank you! I'm sorry to hear that your Son's appeal was unsuccessful.

they sent me an email as i was an international

i sent in an appeal and got an answer a few weeks ago... but it was because they messed up my application and kind of admitted me to the wrong school (long story) and they fixed it.

I got a reply to my appeal and I was still denied because of "substational competition and limited space." But I was accepted at Tulane University, a school that is better than UT. This doesn't make any sense.

lol, tulane is better than ut. I believe that is quite a biased opinion. After talking to my friends who go there, I am not so sure this is the case.

I was just going by the list of best colleges. So it's bad at Tulane huh? I'm not going to go, too afraid of New Orleans.
