Can parents randomly come and visit?

Yea so my parents want to come next weekend but I was wondering if there was something they had to do like register or talk to someone in order to visit.

Nope. They can do whatever they want. I personally wouldn’t recommend letting them stay in your dorm, as they might, uh, be exposed to things they could find appalling, but they can come whenever.

Can they wash and shower in the washrooms?

lol Umm, I might be wrong but…I think most parents would prefer staying at a hotel near the school and not in a dorm. :stuck_out_tongue: Just a thought.

To the OP: Dude, it’s college not jail. ;)

didnt they just see you like a week ago

i think parents could spend 1 night…but hotels should be opened up now

It’s been what, 5 days on campus?? Tell them to stay home for the next month.

Don’t be that weird person whose parents come bi-weekly, crash in your dorm, and then use the shower/toilet facilities.

^ I told my girlfriend not to come visit labor day weekend. I think your parents can wait a little longer.

I’d be creeped out if I got out of the shower and an old man was there… Not to mention no ones gonna wanna do anything with you with your parents around.

Yeah - your parents are probably going through withdrawal after 18 years of having you around and acting impulsively. They’d be smart to let you get established as an independent adult before coming up after just a week. First few weeks a lot happens to establish friendships and such and it’s not going to happen if you’re at the Denny’s breakfast buffet with the 'rents.

wait … is there a Denny’s in Ithaca?

no there is not a dennies…there might be one en route in/out of ithaca though…

There’s no Whataburger here either… ***.

you will become hooked to some Ithaca places though. I have access to ridiculous food in NYC … but I really miss DP Dough, Wegmans buffet and subs, Moosewood, Hughes’ pancakes, and Dijon burgers.

Moosewood. What’s the deal? I heard it wasn’t that great, that it’s just more of fad type restaurant.

it’s a vegetarian place, so that makes it an instant hit or miss. But it’s also an Ithaca institution and has sold thousands upon thousands of cookbooks in stores all over the US.

I’ve always liked the food there, though it isn’t the same as a big steak or pork chops. Also, they had a Moosewod cafe in the law school, is it still there?

lol @ whataburger…

whataburger is a texas thing…i think they have expanded slowly to a few neighboring states…

fyi ithaca makes it nearly impossible for fast foods to penetrate the “local” businesses

I’ve noticed the lack of fastfood stuffs here. I think I’ve seen a Subway, 1 or 2 starbucks, a Burger king, and a McDonald’s.

But still. Ithaca needs Whataburger.

just get a dijon burger at the Ivy room. I have craved one for 15 months now.

i’ve yet to have a dijon burger :frowning:

subway is allowed because it is a franchise store…its a good startup for entrepreneurs…

starbucks was fought over but only they could afford to rent that corner…

Dijon burger really that good? I had a regular burger at the Ivy Room the other day and wasn’t terribly impressed. The one from Nasties was better.
