I've posted a few drafts of different personal statements around the internet to get feedback. Will college admissions offices run my final personal statement against stuff that's already on the internet(ie the drafts I posted), and nail me for plagiarism? Should I delete all postings of my essays just to be safe?
I feel like others might want to know the answer to this question too!

I do not know if they use software that searches the internet, but I wouldn’t want to risk it. If anyone does google random phrases they may hit on your essay and see an early draft and how much advice you got. That might be embarrassing. And they wouldn’t know you wrote the post either.

It could be copied by others, too. or just the good parts.

Students should just not post essays online. It isn’t smart. Don’t encourage people to do that here anymore. They can just make 15 post to use the PM.

There is a pinned thread at the top that warns against posting online. I usually try to mention if I reply to an essay but it gets tiresome repeating all the time.
