Does Stanford only take the top 2 SAT IIs? B/c I have 800 Lit, 750 Math, and 530 French. (lol......I took it with only 2 years. I didn't know they recommended 3) The thing is, my French teacher is one of my recs. Will that hurt?

they only need 2 but I'm sure you can submit more in your supl.

If I were you, I'd take another that I would do well on and retake the French. At the very least you should try to get the French to 650 or above because that 530 could really harm your chances.

How on earth would a language SAT II that's in an area you're not going to specialize in hurt your chances when they only look at your top 2 scores?!

My rec is my french teacher.......but hopefully they look at how I only had 2 years.

French SAT will not hurt you, they will only count 2 SAT IIs. It will be worth retaking though if you get accepted, because if you get a good score (630 or so, I think), it will satisfy Stanford's foreign language requirement.
