Can SAT IIs Redeem SATs

My SAT math is a bit low (700) (I just didn't have time to retake it). But I took the Math II and got a 790. I'm in Calc BC, I just made some dumb mistakes on SAT I...so to get to the point...is there any redeeming quality in my SAT IIs.

Who knows...
What is certain is that academic record matters more than test scores. If you've gotten As in advanced math classes then that will help. A 700 isn't bad anyway.

yeah...my math record's pretty solid...and I'm applying as a lingusitics major anyway

700-800 is moot point to them, it's fine either way, and don't think 700 is a bad grade- to think that is to be obnoxious

haha no...I was just saying that theyre at the low end of the Yale mid-50%

Is the difference between a 3.8 UW GPA and a 4.0 UW GPA moot to Yale as well as long as the applicant takes a rigorous courseload?:)

a little bit more significant, esp if a lot of people are applying for your school, but rank can make it a moot pt.

700 isn't bad, I'm in a similar situation as well. 710-->770

Your SAT II 790, alone, makes up for your SATI 700. It really does. They know that the SAT covers math you probably did in 7th-10th grade or something and they can expect that you'd be a bit rusty on some of that more trivial kind of stuff, especially if you're in Calculus BC.

I, too, am in a similar situation. I'm in Calculus and I got a 680 on my SAT I Math :( And I got a 760 on the SATII. Oh well.

thanks for the info
