Can SAT II's replace an okay SAT 1 score?

When I took the SAT for the first time I got a 2100 (660 M 660 CR 780 W). I recently took SAT II's and got a 740 in math II. Will the 740 act as a replacment for my mediocre math score in the sat? (ps I'm planning on applying to Duke early decision and i know my sat is a little low in math and CR) Thanks!

anyoneee??

Why don’t you try the SAT I again? Because you did so well on Math II, your Math should probably go up if you take the reasoning test again.

I just retook it and honestly im not sure how much it went up. I think at the most it might be at a 690/700 now

To be honest, your sat II score isn’t any better than your sat I…
The extremely forgiving curve on math II means that 740 is probably on in the 50-70th percentile.

yeah its like 73%…but higher caliber students taking the test

I dont think a score in the 700s should be poor for any top school

Yes it can. A college adviser I talk to said colleges just want to see you’re proficient in those subjects. A 740 on Math II shows you’re good at math, even if your SAT I score wasn’t as good.

oh thank you!

does a 2400SATII make up for ~2150SAT1 for HYPSM + ivies?

^ what is a 2400 sat 2?

I have read/heard that SAT II’s are just as important as SAT I.
