What I mean to say is that one of my short essays is coming out to be about 200 words. Should I add more "meat"? Is it ok if I am under 250 words?

I have the same type of problem. Mine is 389 instead of 250. I don't know if that is too much.

The advice D was given last year when she was writing essays was you could go 10 percent above or below their "required" word total. In the case of 250....basically aim anywhere from 225-275 words. Hope that helps.

My first short response is a bit short as well; about the same length as yours. It always seems as though I either end up with too short of response or one that is too long...
Do these short responses play a significant role in the decision process like the essay?

DazeFest, just add an extra sentence or two somewhere. If its 200 words right now, I'm sure you can find somewhere that a little more depth would add to the essay. If you really really don't want to, that's fine. The essays are of some importance and only "make or break" borderline students.

i guess mine's too long
