Hi everybody. I don't have many experiences about colleges and majors, so I hope you guys can help me out to find some colleges that fit me. Thank you in advance.

Pre-med path - Many research opportunities, wide range volunteer work available, high med school acceptance rates, no grade deflation, etc.

major preferred - Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, or other majors that are similar to these, but I don't want General Biology.

cost - less than 25000 each year after all fin aid <--this one is the least important.

I'm a Virginia resident. Here is my primitive list, but I reject(red colored) some because of the reason next to the name. Also please also correct me if the reason is invalid.

Reaches:
Cornell U
Johns Hopkins <--the undergrad may be not as good as the grad school.
U Chicago <-- great grade deflation
Georgetown U <--visited the college, don't feel really like it.
UVA <--only have general biology, but I will apply because it is cheap

Matches:
U Michigan <--expensive for OOS
U Wisconsin <--expensive for OOS
Penn State

Safeties:(all are cheap state u)
JMU
V Tech
VCU

Thank you very much. I appreciate any input.

Northwestern has a pretty good biology program. There's a core sequence of courses all bio majors take, but then there are 7 different concentrations within the bio major to pursue.

Washington University is pretty good at bio too. They also give out a few merit-based scholarships.

The pre-med track is tough, wherever you go. I wouldn't worry about grade deflation. From what my chemistry teacher told me, they try to flunk you out of the Pre-med track when you take Organic Chemistry wherever you go.

Just FYI, UVa has Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience/Neurobiology, Bioethics, and an option to design your own major, which could be any of the specific biology concentrations you listed.

William & Mary and Rice would meet your needs on the academic and cost side and you could possibly get financial aid to bring your costs down at places like Tufts, Bowdoin, Colgate, Middlebury, Wesleyan.
