I have qualified for Questbridge and my parents suggest me applying through this. But I don't necessarily know how it works completely. I know there is a National College Match, where you list your top 8 schools and can get "matched" for a school. However, how does this work? I originally planned to ED to Penn so that would obviously be at the top of my list, but if I do not get in will I be binded to go to the next school on my list. What if I place Yale, or a non-binding school on that list and get accepted to a school that is binding? Would I be able to chose Penn over Yale in that situation? I heard there is a Regular Decision Process, which I seem to like better. But how do we apply "for free", I seem to find that there must be a waiver for application fees. A lot of the schools I intend to apply to our Questbridge partners so if anyone can help give positive/negative feedback that would be awesome. But as of now, I intend to stick to the typical CommonApp process.

I also am going to retake my SATs in October. As of now, I have a 1950 and when I take them October, I’ll get at least a 2100. Will this have any effect on my application process?
