What exactly is Entree Plus and what are the benefits of using it? And what does it mean when you can use it for laundry services and stuff like that?

Benefits: You can use it easily with your Mcard at places in the union, stadium, and those mini dorm cafes/markets (cafe conxion, etc etc)
-Easy for laundry...just swipe..no need to carry around a bunch of change.

Cons:
-You have to use it all by the end of the year because the balance wont transfer.

Oh. How much is the Entree Plus program?

You put money into it, that's all. Like if you want $400 in entree plus, you put $400 into it. I'm not sure how to exactly do this because I've never done it, but there is no cost/fee associated with this "service." Some meal plans come with it. Like I did 9 meals a week + $200 in entree plus. And they were right in my M card once I selected that meal plan.

Generally, people get entree plus as part of a meal plan. Standard meal plan is 13 meals a week, but some people don't eat the dorm food that much and prefer to get 9 meals a week + $200 entree plus.

Also, extra entree plus money at the end of the winter term is either credited back to your student account or you can choose to keep it if you're going to be around for spring/summer term.

whats the Mcard (sorry if its a stupid question)

Basically your student ID card, but it's also your building access card and it has your meal plan information on it. If you use TCF bank, you can also have it function as your credit card.

sounds goooood.

lol. It's not a credit card. It's a debit card. :)

How do you deposit money into it and is there a minimum amount you have to put in. Like do you have to deposit in sets of $100's.

Ya, I need to know this stuff as well.... All these UMich offers are confusing. x.x

I would recommend that you either get a meal plan that includes some Entree Plus -- or add money to your card. The meal plan that is automatically included in your contract doesn't include entree plus. I think you need to add in $150 minimum -- but I'm not sure. There's a form on the website. Anyway, if you don't have money on your card, you won't be able to use it to do laundry or buy stuff in the snack bars. For first-year students, I think it's better to have a plan with more meals. They're doing an "unlimited" meal plan this year - which means you can come and go anytime you want when the dining halls are open - which is like 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM (not every hall - but the big ones). It's not that much more than a 13 meal plan - and then you can get just an apple, if that's all you want - and go back an hour later to get a yogurt or whatever.

how do you switch from a 13 meal plan to entree plus like 9 meals + how ever much cash? will it cost me more if i just put the value of the additional 4 meals into entree plus?

how much $$ do you UMich'ers think i should put on my entree plus for the whole year? will $300 be enough or should i do more?

$300 should be enough, and you can always add more.

Entree plus is the most useful for doing laundry since you dont have to worry about change. Each load of laundy is about a $1 and so is a load of dyer.

Oh also, entree plus is also really handy for eating at the U Club.

The UClub is a restuarant inside the Union and for about $5 you get a damn tasty cheeseburger, much better than Wendys.

300 for both semesters? i might just get 600 just to be safe..

remember that you can always add later

but from year to year i think that the money does not transfer
