K, so I am an incoming nursing student and I remember during the preview days, they had mentioned that If a student purchases a computer, they will be reimbursed through student financial services. When I think reimbursed, I automatically think that I will get my money back, HOWEVER when I called SFS they said that when I buy my computer they will raise my BUDGET. what does this mean??? am I essentially getting a computer for free through Penn Connection??

Is this some nursing-only program, or is a computer part of your financial aid/scholarship package?

Otherwise, I’ve never heard of a computer-reimbursement program for us normies…

haha no, its for everyone dude

this is important. Can someone please answer this?

so is a computer part of your financial aid coverage / scholarship?

otherwise, no idea why you would be entitled to any form of reimbursement

umm, my memory is alil fuzzy cuz this was months ago but i remember them saying that it was part of the “budget” in the financial aid package…and this option is available ONCE every 4 years. but idk anymore than that…i guess I’ll just call them but its so hard to get on the phone with one of those reps. so if someone can comment ANYTHING they kno…it would be helpful, thx

id really appreciate an answer to this question as well please…it would be a great help if the financial aid covered a laptop…

i found this but dont understand what it means, can anyone elaborate?

[Revolving Line of Credit](http://www.sfs.upenn.edu/billing/revolving-line-of-credit.htm)

If it’s part of your budget, all that means is it’s included in the estimates for how much a year at Penn should cost. It doesn’t mean they are paying for it.

Say your budget is $45,000. That means tuition for the year could be $35,000, Room + Board could be $6,000, but they leave money for other things you’ll need or want in school. That means plane tickets, extra food, textbooks, a laptop, etc.

Your PennCard can be used as a credit card on campus. Your $1,000 line of credit is the equivalent of getting a $1,000 credit line for a Visa or MasterCard. You buy something and then get billed for it every month. There’s a minimum payment, etc. A lot of people use their PennCard to buy books at the bookstore, and that is one way to use your card to pay.
