Can Someone Explain to me If This is Automatic Admission?

High School Requirements - Admissions - UT Arlington

I definitely meet the requirements (2nd quarter, and a combined reading and math score of 1430, well over their minimum). Does this mean if I apply I am pretty much guaranteed admittance?

The reason I ask is, at the bottom of the page it says: "Meeting the above minimum university admissions requirements does not guarantee admission. In addition, students who are granted admission to the university are not guaranteed admission to a specific academic program."

Doesn't this completely contradict the automatic admission statement?

Just because you meet requirements doesn’t mean you’ll get in. There are other factors in an application besides GPA and test scores. Also, this is more suited for the College Admissions forum.

If you have a 1430 combined, you’re pretty much accepted at that school. Unless your GPA is seriously ridiculous, you got arrested, and wrote terrible essays, I don’t see any way they would reject you.
