I wholeheartedly agree @anon145 (#45).
No school is worth that kind of debt, but I did not get the impression that this family was considering borrowing that kind of money in order to attend UNC. If they are, I agree that they should not.
Princeton University has NO business school, NO law school, and NO medical school. Applying the thinking of some in this thread, it must REALLY be a lousy school. LOL!
Gee, you think the reason UNC-Chapel Hill doesn’t have an engineering school might be because NC State University is just 30 minutes away, and Duke University is less than 20 minutes away? NC State and Duke both have nationally respected engineering programs. Since UNC-CH and NCSU are both public schools, common sense tells me that having two national caliber publicly funded engineering programs just a half hour apart, would be a duplication of effort and wasteful of taxpayer dollars.
Berkeley has NO medical school. Virginia’s graduate engineering program is only ranked about 40th nationally. According to the logic of some people, they must be overrated schools. LOL!
