Can someone find a LAC that fits me?

Hi, I'm a junior in high school who is looking at colleges (hence my other thread about siena and nc of florida). I want to know if there is a LAC that meets my criteria of personality, academics, sports, and ability to gain admittance.
Here is my info.
I'm from Illinois
I want a school that has spirit for its sports teams
Preference for schools not in midwest, but anywhere is fine
I have a 3.5 UW GPA and 3.9 Weighted
I go to a top prep school in my state
I tutor, play football, throw shotput, and am a member of NHS
I've volunteered
I've taken a tough course load with many honors and APs
Projected ACT of 30
I want a school that preps people well for med school (in my case podiatry school)
I want a school that isn't in the shadows too much (in other words, I don't want an unknown school)
I'm social and quirky
I don't want a campus that is lifeless

I can compromise on some of these factors, but hopefully someone on CC can find a LAC that meets most of the criteria. Thank you so much.

williams students have a lot of athletic spirit,
90 something percent get accepted to top choice med school,
pretty lively campus,
very prestigious,
east coast

just a suggestion?

I would second Williams. Finding a LAC that has a lot of athletic spirit and excitement might be challenging, but Williams seems to fit this and your other criteria.

sounds good, I just hope I have the grades and such to get admitted to Williams. I hear they have one of the longest rivalries in football (that is awesome).

Williams is not easy to get into. Not easy by any means. Your GPA and ACT might just a hair below the desired level.

But there is good news. Because Williams is a LAC, they only rely on numbers to a certain extent. They will look at you more holistically than a large university, meaning they will take your letters or recommendation, ECs, and essays into great consideration.

that sounds good, i hate when schools instantly rule a person out because they are just a little under the desired academic stats.

Williams definitely sounds good; maybe Amherst, too? It’s good that you know what you want to do- go to med school, and med school acceptance rates are definitely a good thing to look at, but just remember that your desired sub-specialty (podiatry) may very well change, so I’d be wary of picking a school just for it’s pre-podiatry program.

Bucknell may be a more accessible option to Williams or Amherst.

Try looking at Haverford College.

A school that offers the classic college experience, lots of school spirit, beautiful campus (also not cold) and yet centered on life being at school rather than school being an opportunity to ditch the parents and drink - University of Richmond. It also isn’t road kill for kids on their way to the Ivies, so it is easier to get in to. And you have to love a school whose mascot is a spider. Haverford is very small.

That’s no fun, what is college but the opportunity to learn a trade and drink a brew?

Union, Franklin & Marshall and Lafayette are possible matches worth looking into.

Yeah, how about Haverford?

i think you’ll be a perfect fit at furman in SC
great weather, east coast, school spirit, awesome campus, great sports programs, a diverse student body, and its not as difficult to get in as williams, amherst, haverford and the like

What are your marks in shotput and discus? Because I am going to be at Williams next year for throwing and football.

hudson,
when you say union, which union are you talking about?

Lafayette and Davidson are both small LAC’s with D1 sports and great med school placements numbers. Look at some other Patriot League schools as well like Lehigh, Colgate and Bucknell. The Lafayette/Lehigh rivalry is insane…

I would say Davidson is a good choice

Also should throw Dennison, Hamilton, Colgate, DePauw, Centre, Rhoades, Sewanee, and Gettysburg into the mix. Now your head will spin.

Machiavelli,
I am being recruited for football somewhere along Div II lines. I throw 39 for shotput, nothing impressive. Did you get a scholarship for football and track?
