can someone give me a little personalized help

Hi kbbm,

You should order the most recent test booklet.

What question types did you miss? Did you miss because of the level of difficulty or because of careless errors?

To improve your writing, you should review your examples and possibly upload some essay samples for review. To earn a 2300, you’ll need to score at least a 10, but probably an 11 or 12.

As for CR, you will need to do a lot of hard work. Luckily, you are only a junior. You need to focus on paraphrasing and prephrasing. That is, you need to spend time with your BB, past questions, and any other booklet and do the following:

1) answer the questions as quickly as possible
2) take as much time as needed to go back through every RC question and write why each wrong answer is wrong [not mentioned, out of scope, only partially right . . .]
3) make sure to mark any question that you were unsure of
4) check your answers and review all guesses/unsure questions
5) make sure your reasons for elimination are correct
6) ask questions on the forums.

If you do this enough, you will start to see logic patterns common in many SAT questions. This should increase your RC score. Luckily, you have a lot of time.

For vocab, I’d recommend using flashcards sparingly… they are like diet pills (they don’t really work). SC tests use in context, not necessarily meaning. Take your time and you should do fine.

Hope that helps. Let us know if your math errors are silly mistakes or content mistakes.

Best,

Craig
