Global Warming is an environmental problem that was brought upon by the negligence of the common man. The common person today wastes the scarce resources of the Earth, such as oil, and uses pollutants, such as gasoline, to power modern day devices. These devices release ozone gasses that adverse affects on the environment. In order to assuage the effects, people as a whole must learn to be more conservative in regards to the environment. According to The New York Times, only 34% of Americans recycle on a regular basis, thus the majority of people contribute to landfills, which further hurt the earth due to damaging fragile eco systems. If the common person starts to use technology, such as hybrid cars, the effect of global may start subside. On the other hand, if people give in to convenience rather than the greater good, they may hurt the Earth and greatly reduce its lifespan.
Like the fragility of the Earth's environment, the economy is also a sensitive entity that requires the cooperation of all people. the economy is set on the basis of supply and demand, which requires people to purchase goods (setting the demand) and purveyors to sell goods (setting the supply). They are both inversely correlated: when the supply goes down and vice versa. This requires the cooperation of all people because if much of the population starts to becomes too frugal, the stock market may crash because of the abundance of supply and the scarcity of demand, as evidenced by the Great Depression during the early 20th century, in which people become reluctant to spend money to due to fear. People, thus need to work together to stabilize the sensitive supply and demand basis of the economy.
Racism is another problem conflicting America today due to because it clouds peoples' judgement. Racism is a psychological phenomenon in which a person of one race believes himself to be superior than a person of another race. This problem is a conflict on America in regards to jobs and violence. Many firms choose to hire people from one race than people from another, even if the victim of racism is more qualified . This leads to an unequal distribution of wealth, which further enforces racial stereotypes. People, who succumb to racism, also many times resort to violence, as evidenced by the shooting of Sikhs in Connecticut by a white supremacist. In order to combat this adverse phenomenon, the general population must make a conscious decision to not resort to racism. If this is not implemented, the violence can advance to a genocide of minorities, as happened in Germany during the Holocaust.
In order for society to work efficiently, people, as a group, must work together in order to assuage societal problems.
