Ugh, I'm so bummed. You know the last thread I made about my highest possible GPA with a 3.57? Forget it. Turns out my CUMILATIVE uw GPA is 3.437 -_- I already know I already blew my chances at the college I want to go to, but for the heck of it, can someone help me calculate what my overall GPA would be with that^ if I got all A's (4pts) through when I would apply to college? I just finished freshman year with that (3.437) GPA. Thanks alot.

We'd need to know how many classes you took and what you got in them in.

Seven classes every year. My overall GPA for freshman year is 3.437. Hypothetically, if I got straight A's (4.0) for Sophomore and Junior year, what would my overall uw GPA be then?

This is kind of another stupid question but when do students usually apply to college? Basically I am asking this whole thing because I want to find out the highest possible GPA I can apply to college with. Thanks.

You're not ruined if you're a freshmen. You have a long way to go. If you can improve, that looks really good. Don't give up!!!

...are you serious.

Yeah if you're a freshmen you have nothing to worry about. If you get straight A's with the hardest courseload in your soph/junior/senior years, then the colleges will just attribute your low grades in frosh year with an upward trend which can only help you.

(3.437 + 4.0 + 4.0) / 3 = 3.8123333333333333333333333333333

You haven't screwed up at all! 3.8 is respectable (especially w/ a difficult courseload.)

You'll be applying toward the beginning of your senior year; your freshman + soph + junior cumulative GPA will be taken into account.

Okay now that I look at that formula that is so easy to figure out, I thought it was more complicated than that somehow. I think I'll be taking the hardest or almost hardest courseload there is. But I'm worried because I really want to go to UF, and the majority of students admitted have at least a 3.75. I would like to think I can easily get straight A's the next two years at least but that didn't happen last year so I'm worried that 3.81 is cutting it close.
Thanks :)

Good luck! I'm sure you'll do well. And obviously, a rigorous courseload with good grades looks better than an easy one with perfect grades. (:

Yay :) 10char
