Hi everyone. I'm new here, so forgive mistakes because I'm not much of a forum-goer, so I'm not really familiar with what is acceptable or not.

Anyways, to make a long story short, I'm feeling worthless.

I'm a sophomore with aspirations of attending a great university. My dream is MIT.

But I just don't think I'm cut out for it. I obviously have a 4.0, with a 1970 SAT and a 32 ACT. I'm taking my first AP this year because my rinky-dink high school is just now telling me I could take one early. I try to be in clubs, but my school doesn't really have any interesting ones, so I'm just in Spanish Club and FBLA this year. If we had something for math or science, I'd love to try it. We have TSA, but I just don't think I'd like it. I prefer to work out math problems or something, not build bridges.

Anyways, I would say I'm pretty good, but then I just read about some people, their accomplishments, and how they couldn't get in.

Ex: "I have a 2400 SAT, 800s on three SAT IIs, president of 5 clubs, valedictorian, I build houses for homeless animals (ok, this one is a bit of a joke), etc., and I didn't get in!!! Stupid admissions officers!!!"

This just makes me feel like I have seriously no hope.

So, do I have any hope, or should I just resign to going to a lesser school?

I'm actually going to be heading to a local university or the next two years instead of high school, and they've told me they've gotten kids into MIT. They said that I looked like a person who may go there, but I just don't know.

Thanks to anyone who took the time to read. :)
