I was hoping if anyone can help me. I am a ccc transfer about to apply to UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, and CSU Long Beach. My major is mechanical engineering. I had started off my freshman year at the University of Arizona as a buisness major and i ended up not liking any of it so I came back to california after a semester. I had hit kind of a depression when it came to school and my gpa had been low for my first two years (around a 2.0 gpa). in the last year and a half to two years though I finally started showing what im made of and been getting A's and B's and now im at a 3.05 gpa /: i know its still not the best but the fact that my academic turn around should mean something to the schools right? Also my upper division courses Calc 1 (grade:A), Calc 2 (grade:B), Physics 1 (B), C++ (A), and Bio (A) is a 3.6 gpa. I am also in the MESA and STEM programs at my school volunteering some hours to help computer illiterate kids and I also work 24 hrs/week. I am currently taking Calc 3, Physics 2, and intro chem hoping to get straight A's or at the least one B. So what kind of chances do I have?

Ya know, yours is a close call. I would be shocked if you didn’t get into at least one of those schools. See the UC’s do like resilient students, but a 3.05 is seriously borderline. I’d say you’re in at 1-2 out of 4 of those schools. Good luck, my friend!

Thanks for the feedback. I’m hoping that I get straight A’s this semester it will bring me up to a 3.2 that for sure will put me at ease.
